Holistico offers access to the Cellular Micronutrient Assay (CMA), a comprehensive nutrient test run by Cell Science Systems.
Most nutrient tests only look at what's floating in your bloodstream. The CMA goes much deeper. It looks at your white blood cells to see how well your body is actually using key vitamins, minerals, amino acids, fatty acids, and antioxidants. This gives a better picture of your long-term nutrient status, not just a snapshot of one moment in time.

The test
What is the Cellular Micronutrient Assay?
The CMA is a functional nutrient test that assesses nutrient insufficiencies inside your immune cells, giving a longer-term picture than a standard blood test, which only captures a single moment. Ordered through DHA Laboratory and performed by Cell Science Systems. Not intended to diagnose or treat any disease.
How is this different from a normal blood test?
A standard serum test measures nutrients circulating outside the cell at one point in time. The CMA evaluates nutrients within your immune cells, which is designed to reflect longer-term nutrient status, rather than what happened to be in your blood the morning of the draw.
Why test before supplementing at all?
Because nutrient needs vary significantly from person to person, and are influenced by diet, digestion, stress, genetics, medications, lifestyle and environment. Without testing, supplementing is largely an assumption. Testing replaces the assumption with your own data.

Ordering and logistics
How do I order the test?
Order the kit above and it will ship directly to your home. Once it arrives, you will take the kit to a phlebotomy clinic for the blood draw. After the blood draw, the clinic will send your sample to the lab, and your results will come 2-3 weeks later by email.
How is the test actually performed?
It is a blood draw, so you take your kit to a phlebotomy site to have the sample collected. You are responsible for locating that site and for any fee it charges. Many clinics charge a blood draw fee, and that fee is separate from the price of the kit.
Can I get a refund on a test kit?
No. Test kits are final sale and cannot be cancelled, returned or refunded once ordered.

How do I get my results, and who explains them?
Your lab results are delivered by email, along with an educational summary prepared by Cell Science Systems. The summary is for educational purposes only. You're welcome to share your results with your own licensed healthcare provider to discuss them further.
What if my results show a nutrient Holistico does not sell?
Our line currently only covers two nutrients, but we're actively expanding it. Get notified when we launch new products by joining our email list. Your healthcare provider can help you explore ways to support your results.
